Nvidia drops 3D Vision support in GeForce Game Ready DriversOctober 21, 2019
Nvidia plans to launch the previous version of this GeForce Game Reader driver 418 at April 2019. Release 418 drivers is going to be the last release to support 3D Vision. Future drivers, launch 419 and more intelligent, won’t launch the technologies and applications anymore.
The company will support launch 418 until April 2020 but just to tackle critical driver problems according to a new support page to the official Nvidia service website.
Nvidia plans to include the 3D gaming software 3DTV Play together using the driver release and to remove the standalone download of 3DTV out of its website after the release. The previously commercial applications will be provided for free with the launch of motorist 418 in Apirl 2019. Even the 3D Vision Video Player program stays readily available as a standalone download throughout 2019.
Nvidia clients using 3D Vision should stay on Release 418 to utilize the technology before 2020.
Support will be dropped completely in April 2020 from Nvidia. While it’s still feasible to remain on the then-outdated and unsupported driver to keep on using 3D Vision, it is not advisable to do so because of the shortage of aid.
Nvidia did not mention it chose to finish service for 3D Vision. The most likely explanation is that 3D never caught on in home entertainment allowed alone in gaming, which demand probably dropped much further with the release of their very first Virtual Reality headset. While VR technology is facing an uphill struggle to win over consumers and gamers generally as well, it has better chances than 3D technology especially since it’s likely to use the technology to watch movies in 3D.
Gamers using the default installation profile when they install Nvidia drivers will probably see that 3D Vision will not be installed once releases hit variant 419. Less bloat for consumers using the default installation profile.
Experienced users personalize Nvidia driver setups or use third-party software like NVSlimmer to obstruct any part they don’t require from installing on their devices to eliminate Nvidia Telemetry along with other parts that may start with Windows or operate in the background.
